2012-13 Secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) Database Handbook
The Secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) Database Handbook is for use by the school districts, and offers guidance on the reporting of career and technical education student data during Survey 5. It includes secondary CTE data elements, associated notes, reporting formats, edits, timelines, and supporting appendices.
What is WDIS?
WDIS [Workforce Development Information System] is the Workforce Development reporting system and uses seven reporting formats. Each format contains specific data elements required for gathering student and teacher data.
Secondary career and technical education students are reported in the K-12 reporting system. However, secondary students are also reported in WDIS when they are co-enrolled in an adult general education program or when dually enrolled in a postsecondary career and technical education program.
What are the Requirements?
All public school districts are required to submit all secondary CTE enrollment data via the DOE Student Information Data Base.
Section 10008.385 (2), 229.555(2), Florida Statutes, requires the development and implementation of a comprehensive management information system linking all levels of the state education system.
